ADVISE TO THE OPPOSITION PARTIES OF SOUTH AFRICA IN PREPARATIONS FOR 2014 NPE

My only advise to you as opposition parties is that, if you would want to have some positive impact on the 2014 NPE is that, you must forge partnership to speak with one voice. You must aim at shortening the number of opposition parties in the ballot paper, by contesting the elections under one umbrella. If it would be possible you must aim to have only 1 party representing the voice of the opposition in each Provincial Ballot paper, and 1 party contesting elections on the NA Ballot paper. This way the electorate must not get confused, as it was the case in Tlokwe Ward 9 By Elections held on the 07 August 2013. If DA and the Independent Candidate could have reached a compromise, they could have won that ward. The opposition must now fight for 5 Provincial take over since you’re aware that people have lost confidence in the ANC led government. It can be possible only if all members(parties)of this group compromise and focus on wining these Provinces first. Then look at who will serve as a face for this structure (NA, Presidential Candidate) a woman if possible since it is clear that men will not be able to gather enough votes in this dispensation. You can then look at Logistics such as who will lead Provinces and that you must not cloud your purpose and intentions of taking lead in these Provinces.

Strategies as Political Parties on ways of raising funds (revive those parties in a comma) from international donors and start doing ground work, by looking at the needs of communities. Take lessons from MDC in Zimbabwe for example, as to why they lost power (even if some might believe that those elections were rigged) as a matter of fact, such as not complying with rules of the game as detailed in the comment posted in cnn http://m.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F2013%2F08%2F05%2Fopinion%2Fzimbabwe-election-mbanga-analysis%2Findex.html%3Fsr%3Dsharebar_facebook&h=JAQGwnUjE&enc=AZNNHO_qFrCzFO_p0OPVSeHFw6bMi3dtveV-8LbufD_cR8jwRzVx6-EH2K2pDTL_Wj0tGit8pmSXcuyNjV4ZbGuOZADkd0SYjPuoD2-gm7BN0lRZb9ABV7YkGQ_GSrmdyyKoN_75UpjLZ3rnAHJCWPTq&s=1. Lesson #1 is that Tswangarai did not canvas in advance to conscientious the Zimbabweans and getting the feeling of the electorate, but just conclude that people were fed up with Mugabe and that they would vote for MDC in numbers. This did not happen, now MDC is crying foul play to the very same rules that they agreed to participate on. Lesson #2 it is clear that the current ANC leadership has lost touch with the mandate of serving the interest of all South Africans on issues of moral, political and economic obligation thus the play field for the opposition is green and fertile for them to take the advantage. This objective can only be achieved if the opposition can just smell the coffee and speak with one voice, in politics terms, agree only to have one political emblem/logo representing (all opposition parties subscribing to this goal/objective) in the ballot paper against ivili elinomkhonto (ANC) party logo and those other political parties not subscribing to either ANC or this group.

The opposition must consider that it will be difficult to persuade blacks to vote for this group since ANC took them out of apartheid and they would not want to go back to that system that is led by whites who benefited from it. Most older generation will vote for ANC no matter what, it will be policies and goals that will be convincing to them that can change their mind set. The born free generation might vote for this structure since they are liberated from mental slavery, but some might not be willing to take part in these elections because of apathy, disgrantle and mediocre. These facts to placed on the table must be able to convince leaders from DA, FF+, ACDP, PAC and those parties that seem to have white males domination at the back with their own agendas. Politics is a dirty game, leaders must be able to know that they will be contesting elections against ANC which has been able to enjoy political power in the past and would use any means in maintaining the status quo. In some of your Bosberad(secrete) discussions (to be held) you must be able to strategise on how constitutional democracy can be consolidated and how power will be shared once 5 provinces belongs to the opposition. The DA and ID might reject this proposal in that they already have a Province that is under their control and might want to control and dominate this forum. It will be upon all opposition parties to convince them as to how they will benefit from this partnership if 5 provinces fall under the leadership of this structure, the onus will be on the small parties to strategise on how the DA or ID will benefit in ensuring that WC and GP is led by this forum.

As you are aware that the ANC has not been able to achieve the objectives of an ideal rainbow nation, or implemented policies and kept promises for the past 19years, it will be opportune for this structure to convince the electorate as to why DA or FF+ is part of this structure and how people of all colors have been able to work together in forging this alliance and how most South Africans will be able to experience the ideal rainbow nation as envisaged by our predecessors. Invite professional key figures to discuss topics aimed at looking the challenges faced by developing countries led by one party after the liberation struggle and invite people who will help this structure in achieving these goals and objectives. It’s a pity that I am not a politician but a political animal and fundi and hopes that 2014 NPE will bring change to the rest of South Africans irrespective of their background and would work together in fighting corruption, greed, red tape, moral decay, bureaucracy and all the social ills created by the ANC led government. Good luck and pray that these objectives are met some day in ensuring that a better life for all is achieved in our lifetime. Some of the challenges that people would want to know will involve the question of land, what agrarian policies aimed at developing peasants like in India for example. How will this secure whites who have been involved in farming for decades and have been providing food security for the country. What type of civil servants will be recruited in ensuring that these policies are implemented and will not be sabotaged by those standing against African development project. Since ANC policies are aimed at achieving some of these objectives, how will we work together as South Africans in creating a better tomorrow? The structure must also recognize the gains made by ANC since 1994, but now power has corrupted its leaders and “it is time to save South Africa from ANC, its time to save ANC from ANC” and this can be used as a tag line. People can also visit the last three blogs to get the understanding as to how this objective can be achieved.
Zimbabwe elections: Why is nobody dancing after Mugabe’s latest win?
In the absence of a proper voters’ roll and credible international observers, no one can honestly say with any degree of certainty whether last week’s elections reflected the will of the Zimbabwean people. One
