THE CURRENT ANC ADMINISTRATION HAS FAILED THE NATION AND NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE……

The current ANC administration has failed the Nation and needs to apologize……

The fact of the matter is that, we have Ministers who have gone against ANC traditions, practices and policies for personal gain, enrichment and aggrandizement ever since the current administration took over. When looking at the Mandela Admin one can agree that we were not experience in what this democracy meant, you as an electorate could accept that as fallible, humans can make mistakes and the RDP could fail, then the Mbeki administration came to power with GEAR and ASGISA policies with the hope that policies would be implemented after his second term but nothing was done. My view is that, people would have to be employed or deployed on merit instead of brorskap, we will keep on repeating the very same mistake. The current administration is worse as it is acceptable that corruption is now a norm. If you have read Achebe’s “The Troubles in Nigeria” book, you will realize that Achebe was highlighting some of what we are experiencing in South Africa and things might get worse as we continue to accept that government officials must be deployed by cadre development instead of looking at the credentials of capable South Africans irrespective of their color, political affiliation in achieving a democratic South Africa that was envisaged by leaders such as Walter Sisulu, Nelson Mandela, Oliver Tambo, John Gomomo, Harry Gwala, Joe Slovo, Chris Hani, David Webster, Molly Blackburn, and others that have fought for this democratic South Africa we see today.

To me it shows that the ANC Political School has failed our leaders as they seem not to understand the main objective of what the policies, mandates, and practices are. When you look at the key priorities of this administration, education seems to be at the top, but hey, we have a minister who has failed the nation from the textbook saga to implementation of educational programmes that must aim at developing learners at school, where will you find her? The other day she was toyitoying with Minister Xingewana and MPL Mazibuko at the Oskar’s trial; does our nation really need this? I don’t think so. Ministers have to look at how they can simplify the legislation and make it easier for ordinary citizens to access programmes aimed at their development. If Minister Nxesi for example was focus on his portfolio he would not have accepted the renovations of MP houses, renovation of Zumaville, the purchace of government fleet cars but would have recommended that the budget by those department should be used on bread and butter issues, building schools in areas that need schools, sent some of the money to building houses for people who have applied for RDP houses but are still living in zink sharks at Kafirplass. But our servants whom we have elected have opted for living nice enjoying resources that should be created for the betterment of our poor ordinary citizens that do not even know what this democracy means to them.

Looking at the Justice and Constitutional Development, it is a pity that the minister has failed the nation for years now but the ANC still keeps on electing him, he has failed the nation in that, our ordinary people do not even know what this Constitution of South Africa Act 108 of 1996 is to them as it is still in only one language, English. For one to understand this national law that is supreme, one has to learn English, but even those who have gone to school and in some cases are English, cannot be able to translate statutes that they should be able to interpret when asked by fellow countrymen/women. As a nation we still have to fight for a South African Constitution that will represent all of us in all official languages including the Khoi and San, it is known to be one of the best Constitutions in the world, but for who benefits? Those who are the elite class, the rich and the black diamond or middle class who can afford a lawyer who will represent his/her Constitutional rights. It takes too long for a case to be adjudicated, look at the spy tapes, and these commissions of enquiries that are set up to delay justice taking its course i.e. Zumaville, Marikana, Guptagate (finding out who the Gupta and the Guptee are), SAA, PtroSA, SABC, Communication Ministry, Toilet Scandal, Water crisis in the rural areas and all those you can think of. Those who are deployed in government have failed  the nation in that, even though the Minister was warned years ago about this relationship between the Guptas and their influence on government operations, our Ministers have failed to take an action, they are still failing the nation as they still play dirty tricks and delaying tactics even though the ordinary people can see that there was some flaw. Is this the kind of South Africa I was envisaging to see in 2013? No My hopes were that our course would be of ensuring that there is stability in SADC, and Africa so as we can have an opportunity to explore our continent, learn from other nationals, assist those nations needing our expertise but we find our country having gone 17 years back despite the exposure of technology, business opportunities that are there in our continent.

The only selected friends, families of the elite class has this access and it is misusing it and act as if they are doing things for national interest, look at CAR, IRIN reports that our force was on a mission of defending the interest of those doing businesses in that country. How long will the report be published that will give us the true reflection of what is happening? If our servants were able to stop putting real issues under carpet to save comrades but destroying poor people’s confidence in what those before us stood for, this democracy will mean nothing. We can commend our democracy in that there are platforms such as these that we can use in raising our opinions on matters that we feel affects our servants that must realize that we have employed them to do a job, if we are not happy, all will have to account and be responsible for the botches that we see happening in this administration. If Protection of State Information will mean that companies who are selling the plans of our nation to other countries, then people will have to understand, but this does not mean that if the very same legislation will block media from let citizens know what the Guptas have done by lending in our military base, then it means our legislatures will have to revisit this Bill before it becomes a Law. It would be advisable for government to let the people have a say when legislations are tabled in parliament and let the people decide on those issues by avoiding to force it down the throat forgetting that as a government minister or official, you’re just a servant of the people.

Once this comes to the heads of those in our Parliament, we won’t have a problem because we will have minds that are there to serve and lead by example, proposing that these issues should go for a referendum before they become legislation that everyone who does not understand or does not accept, transgressing it. We will keep on having criminals who will rape old women if the President of the country has accepted to have a shower cap on top of his head in Zapiro’s cartoons (Zapiro was granted permission on this). What do other Presidents say when he is not around at G20 Summits, ‘is shower-man coming? Where is shower-man?’ What is it that MPs say when they see a carton of our President in Mail and Guardian or The Star newspaper? It shows that they have also accepted that our President has some shower cap hanging on his head, we as ordinary citizens have also accepted this. I am raising this because my son was asking me the other day as to why in most of the pictures (Zapiro’s cartons) of our President has a shower cap on top of his head, I could not be able to answer as it would mean that I will have to relate a story about the shower-cap and might not give the correct version of what the court ruled and the confusion of how Zapiro managed to get an access on the shower-cap rights over our President’s head. These are some of the issues that this administration needs to advise our President to take some leave while investigators are currently busy looking at issues such as vote of no confidence, Zumaville, CAR, Gupta saga and those cases that need to be investigated. But this also goes beyond as most Ministers needs to go the same scrutiny as we have lost confidence in them as well as they have failed the nation on some of the issues that I have raised above. The only way to do this will be through a ballot paper, but the question is who can replace ANC from people’s minds and hearts especially those who have ANC blood in them? Since the majority of ANC has endorsed this leadership in Mangaung, it will have to come with a strategy and implementation mechanism that will serve the interests of ordinary citizens that want to see a better life for all created for them. We have to also accept that ANC has been sold out to the highest bidder by those that we elected and did not have a way of ensuring that they report back to us, but we are reporting to them in turn of getting government tenders and deals that will manage to sustain us in keeping up with the lifestyle that we have chosen. 2014 will be the test of time for all to see that if the current administration is not recalled, the ANC will not be getting the 52% it hoped to achieve come 2014 NPE results. This is not some fiction, but its reality at its best, we have just learnt that the number of unemployed people in this country has doubled; it is upon young people to redeem the aspiration of ANC by challenging it in all public meeting that will be held on accountability. When these Ministers come to address us in these platforms, it is time to ask those relevant questions, and never accept NDP as it has failed before it even starts……….We just need answers, no stories please……Practical real stories on achievements…………..The current ANC administration has failed the Nation and needs to apologize……
