Will the ANC alliance hold as the 2014 elections approach?
It seems the chicken is coming to roost, come 2014 the ANC will not even manage to get the 52% it targets to get with these developments, the ANC leadership is shooting itself and no one to blame. When I remember in 1994 two thirds majority was achieved, then 1999 there was also two thirds majority, 2004 there was again a majority who gave ANC two thirds majority, then 2009 things started to shift towards the 50% mark. Therefore do you have to really want to know as to why the chicken crossed the road? The story goes like the dream of Poka Thabo shared by me on Dec 04, 2012: - "Poka Thabo o ngolletse bana ba ga Oumama. He said: My Grandmother who's 82yrs just woke me up at 04H16 with a disturbed voice and that's what she communicated to me:
"Ngwanake I had a disturbing dream where the ANC the organisation we had work hard to build to be a resevoir of high morality losing 5 Provinces in 2014 which WC; FS; NC; NW; GP and winning EC and LP with less than 50%. In the WC the DA won and FS; NC; NW and GP a new party winning more than 50% in the EC and LP a coalition taking over. National the ANC managed to only secure 43% of counted votes.
Am afraid this dream is troubling me, please save the ANC the only thing own by the poor led by the greedy and corrupt.
My son why is your generation and the one before you failing on continuing with your mission.
Trust me if you don't cleanse the ANC of corrupt and greedy leadership our people will punish us" she then sing "Senzenina crying".
The phone got death for a while and with an angry voice "Bana ba sa utlweng molao wa batsadi ba utlwa wa manong" - meaning in English "Children who don't heed their parent advices will follow the advice of the vultures or wrong people". I ask what have I done she said:
"I warn you in 2007 when you were criss-crossing the country campaigning for this man who then had a cloud and still have over his head"
She broke again into a song "U Tambo anga lila" and I ask her who taught her this one and she said "I have not lost my political activism because of old age, everytime I invite Thabiso and friends to update with revolutionary songs, but this one I knew it when I was still able to attend meetings".
She asked me to come back home and I must stay away from Mangaung in December, I wanted to protest she said "Ngwana o sa utlweng molao wa batsadi o dira eng" meaning " What happens to a child who doesn't heed parents advice".
She them ask me to take out my Methodist Xhosa hym book and join her in early morning prayer by singing "Siyakudumisa Thixo" and in Sesotho "Tumelo Ya Bapostolo".
She said to me her dream is going to be a reality if we don't save the ANC from the greedy and corrupt in Mangaung.
She thanked my Branch for not delegating me to represent them @ Mangaung and said your life is more important than anything.
She concluded by saying greed everyone and always trust in GOD my Grandson, he brought you this far and he will not abandon you. For the sake of your family stay away from Mangaung.
I responded with tears following from my eyes "Mama what needs to be done to save the ANC" she responded instantly "Elect Leadership that inspire confidence in our youth and youngg adults, not some old women of ANCWL who can't even articulate the People Charter for Freedom ( Freedom Charter)".
She asked me to send her Cde Thandi Modise ( ANC DSG) personal cellphone numbers because she wants to share her dream with her, before its late.
She then said if she was able to travel to Vryburg today she was going to visit Mme Ruth Mompati ( her cousin) to share equally her dream.
Is it late as we have these challenges facing Azania as we move towards 2014 NPE? Will the ANC get the two thirds majority to deal with our Constitutional challenges that we face? Will Protection of State Information Bill become law? Will the BBBEE legislation really mean anything to an ordinary South African who only wants a job to fend for his /her family? Will our Legislatures focus on legislative matters instead of enjoying a joyful gravy train ride of the Shilowa express and not being able to account to their constituencies? Will our Ministers be able to account to the electorate as to why they should be elected again, come 2014 NPE? As we move towards BRICSA deal, will our departments and all those institutions receiving funding from government get clear Audit reports from the AG come 2014? Since it is clear that the NDP (is rejected by some within the Tripartite Alliance) will it get support from the electorate since it is clear that our government is only planning since 1994 without any clear implementation practicals (and strategies that are visible for one to see)? With these few questions in mind, I think it will be a very uphill for ANC to convince the electorate to cast a vote for them in ensuring that it gets the two thirds majority in its dreamland. I still need to be educated in some of these issues and need someone to educate me and convince me as to why I should be voting for the party I think stands for my policies, views, biliefs.......In closing, I would wish Tata to have the strength and be able to see the results of 2014 NPE and would like to remind one to look at what he said.......as he said clearly on his address to the September 1994 Congress of COSATU as shown in the picture coming soon...
